About the class
What is
aerial yoga?
Suspended stretching and zero-compression inversions in a silk hammock that supports your weight as you stretch.
In aerial yoga a soft silk hammock, rigged from the ceiling, holds part of your weight. That changes your relationship with the ground: stretches go deeper with less strain, and inversions happen with zero compression on your neck and spine.
Classes build the foundations first — how to sit, lean and hang in the silk — then add strength, balance and flow as you progress. As you progress you build strength, coordination, flexibility, stamina and poise — and many students love how light their back feels afterward.

What
happens
- 01
Settle into the silk
You start with the hammock low and your feet on the floor, learning how the fabric supports you.
- 02
Stretch, suspended
Supported stretches open hips, shoulders and spine with far less effort than on the mat.
- 03
Invert — only if you want to
Zero-compression inversions are offered step by step. Every one is optional.
- 04
Slow down
Class closes with slower, supported stretches and a moment of rest.

Questions
Before
you come
Will I have to go upside down?
No. Beginner classes start low with your feet on the floor, and every inversion is optional. You progress when you feel ready.
Do I need upper-body strength or flexibility?
No. The hammock supports you, which is exactly why aerial is a good place to start. Strength and flexibility are what you build in class.
What should I wear?
Fitted clothes that cover your underarms and the backs of your knees, where the silk touches. No zippers, jewellery or lotion — they can snag or slip on the fabric.
Can I try a class before I commit?
Yes. No membership is needed — a single class is $25. Come try it, then decide.
Will I get hurt?
We teach you to train safely, and every class is taught at your own level. As with any physical activity there is some risk, so tell David about any injury before class and he will help you work within your comfort zone.
Do you give refunds on class cards?
Class card sales are final and unused classes are not refunded. Unused equipment can be refunded in its original packaging.
